A GPT-Generated Song Lyrics

I read Nick Cave's opinion on AI-generated songs from back in 2023. He articulated his arguments beautifully. If I may, I think his main argument is that songs arise from suffering and reaching beyond one's limits, even if that means self-destruction. I agree. There is a barrier to writing exactly what genuine human writers write when they pull from lived suffering, joy, vulnerability. Without that, a piece of work can seem like an imitation.

On the other hand, I suspect that AI can write songs about themselves truthfully or write lyrics resonating with generations brought with AI's presence. I then asked GPT if they could write a song about themseves in a genuine way without worrying about structure or mimicing anyone.
